The new 2017 Nissan Vmotion 2.0 Concept, presented at this years’ Detroit Auto Show, gives us a glimpse at what’s to come from the hot selling Altima. Even though Nissan themselves called this concept an evolution of its V-Motion design theme, it is most certainly also a first look at the future generation Nissan Altima that is expected to arrive in the next year, year and half.

2017 Nissan Vmotion 2.0 Concept Exterior

The new Vmotion concept is meticulously designed. From the ridiculously low new V-shaped grille design to the floating C-pillar design, everything on this new concept looks tailor made. Furthermore, the Vmotion 2.0 features a stylish carbon fiber roof, shaved door handles and a set of suicide doors to complete its dramatic exterior.
The new model is 74.4 inches wide and 191.3 inches long, which is more or less the same as the outgoing Altima. But where they differ is the space in-between the front and rear wheels, where the new version has about 2.9 inches more. It also sits about 2.4 inches wider than the current model.

Inside, the dramatic undertones continue with the zebrawood trim alongside the door panels as well as the floor. Combined with light crème colored leather seats, the cabin offers an abundance of elegance and style. Moreover, the dashboard integrates the digital instruments and the multimedia interface into one big widescreen. It seems like everything around it caters to the dashboard, especially the steering wheel that is cut at the top to allow a full view at the screen.

Additionally, there is a touchpad in the center console through which all of the infotainment features can be operated. There is also a slightly smaller touch pad for the back-seat passengers that has almost all the same exact capabilities as the big one. Finally, we would single out the new Bose stereo system that comes with the UltraNearfield speakers, that create a 360-degree sound field and apparently increase situational awareness for the driver.

2017 Nissan Vmotion 2.0 Concept Engine and Powertrain

All we know regarding the Vmotion’s powertrain is that it will feature the ProPilot automated driving system. The same system that is expected to power the new Nissan Leaf. Reportedly, the ProPilot will control the accelerator, brakes and steering wheel at tip speeds, but for the passing and lane changing procedures you will have takeover yourself. Moreover, the ProPilot System lights up the grille and rear diffuser when it is used, so as to let the other drivers know what is going on.
