Following the successful roll out of the Bandit Edition, which sold out in a matter of days, Trans Am Worldwide is releasing the 2017 Trans Am Super Duty. A brand-new, custom made, 1000hp Super Duty is the premiere model from the Outlaw Series designed exclusively by the Trans Am distribution arm of Trans Am Depot. It will be debuting at the 2017 New York Auto Show where we are eager to get the first look at the this very limited edition of the Trans Am.

Design

The new Alpha Platform underpinned 2017 Trans Am Super Duty is an outright redesign of the original model, but despite its modern and sleek body lines the 21st century Super Duty manages to retain the original’s masculine demeanor and traditional retro styling. The company is even offering the original T-Tops as an optional feature. The Super Duty’s production was guided by the company’s chief designer and engineer, Tom Sawyer, and it appears that Tom brought his namesake’s adventurous spirit while working on this new model. The graphic design renderings you see here were created in concert with the famed Swedish automotive designer, Bo Zolland, whose impressive resume includes collaborations with everybody from the Detroit auto makers to Jay Leno.

Engine and Performance

But perhaps the Super Duty’s biggest draw is its staggering performance package of 1000hp and 1046 lb-ft. of torque. This is a historical accomplishment for Trans Am World Wide who now join the narrow field of only a few who are able to offer such an impressive performance in a production model. This historical performance package was created in tandem with Magnuson Superchargers from Ventura, California and premier NASCAR engine builder from Martinsville, Virginia. The engine that will be producing all of this power is the supercharged 2.3 Liter 455ci with Boost of 14psi.

2017 Trans Am Super Duty Release Date and Price

We will be able to get the first look at the 2017 Trans Am Super Duty on April 14th when it officially debuts at the 2017 New York Auto Show. The new model goes on sale precisely at 12:00am, Sunday May 1, 2017 when the first come first serve policy will be enacted and only the lucky first 50 customers will get the exclusive rights to purchase the new 2017 Trans Am Super Duty Edition.

Trans Am World Wide hasn’t announced the pricing yet and all we know is that the 50 lucky purchasers will be required to pay a non-refundable $3,000.00USD deposit right away, while the delivery will take up to 180 days. However, solely based on the pricing of the company’s previous offering, the Bandit Edition, which sold for $115,000, we expect this new model to go for about the same.
