2018 Chevrolet Traverse Exterior and Interior

The new generation Traverse is slightly longer and wider than before, yet it manages to shed as much as 362 pounds. Its family friendly design takes a lot of stylistic cues from the Chevy Tahoe and blurs the line between a crossover and a sports utility vehicle.

Inside, Chevrolet adds some new features like the USB charging ports in all three rows, 4G LTE wireless internet. Also, the middle row seats can turn forward, towards the third row while holding a front facing car seat. Furthermore, there is an infotainment system with apps like the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also an 7-inch touchscreen. Moreover, the new Traverse is quite spacious, esspecialy in the third row, where Chevy promises the most ample amount of legroom in the entire crossover segment.

From the safety standpoint, there are excellent features such as the surround vision cameras, LED headlights, lane keep assist as well as the Teen driver tech who all come as standard. Optional features include the automatic braking and forward collision alerts.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse Engine and Powertrain

Under the hood of the new Traverse you will find a 3.6-liter V6 engine capable of delivering 305 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, for those craving even more power, there will be a sportier version aka. the Traverse RS with a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 unit that offers 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
Power will be trassnmited to either the front wheels or all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The only real downside of the new Traverse are the fuel economy estimates that frankly aren’t all that impressive. The new model can manage just 25 mpg highway with front-wheel drive. Although, the I4-powered Traverse can manage 20 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

As for the towing capability, the new model of the Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
