We are just a few days away from the official debut of the next generation, 2018 Lincoln Navigator that is set to be showcased at the 2017 New York Auto Show. But before the gates open in New York, Lincoln decided to give us a little teaser of what’s to come.

Exterior And Interior

The teaser image depicts a shadowy silhouette with a clear focus on the LED headlights, which doesn’t actually reveal that much. However, based on the many earlier hints and teasers you can definitely expect to see a lot of aluminum and lightweight materials being used for the new Navigator’s exterior. This should result in a weight loss of a least a couple of hundred pounds, much like the newest Ford Expedition.

Previously surfaced spy shots lead us to believe that the 2018 Lincoln Navigator will take some cues from the 2016 Navigator concept. Most of the chiseled design lines from concept are likely to make their way into the 2018 model’s design. However, don’t expect to see the gullwing doors in the production model when it shows up at dealerships.

As for the interior, Lincoln really needs to step it up on the luxury department if they want to compete with the likes of Range Rover and Cadillac Escalade, but more importantly to justify the Navigators relatively high price point. Things are looking promising, though, since earlier spy shots show the new model with a large infotainment screen with chrome trim on the center stack.

Engine and Powertrain

In terms of powertrain, the new model will probably repurpose the 3.5-liter biturbo V6 engine, but only this time it should come with a bit more power. Under the outgoing Navigator’s hood, the V6 manages to create up to 380 horsepower or 283 kilowatts and 460 pound-feet or 634 Newton-meters of torque. We expect this newest model to produce at least 400 horsepower in order to justify the above average prices to its customers. As for the transmission, our best bet is the already familiar 10-speed automatic gearbox. But, well see for sure in a few days time when the new 2018 Lincoln Navigator officially debuts in New York.

2018 Lincoln Navigator Release Date and Price

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator makes its debut at the 2017 New York Auto Show where will hopefully find out the release date and price information along with all the other specs. But, for now all we know is that the new model should go on sale by the end of the year, while the prices are not expected to significantly diverge from the current price points. Therefore, expect the 2018 Navigator to start at about $65,000 and go all the way up to $79,000 for the top of the line model.
