It seems that it could become official that the all new Toyota Supra is going to hit the market as a 2019 model. According to the information our team has got, this next-generation Supra will be a product of the collaboration between Toyota and BMW. It was presented as a concept in 2016 and today the spy shots reveal us what this model might look like in production.

Exterior

When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Toyota Supra, our team has based all the information on the spy shots that have caught the camouflaged version of this model being tested. However, we have managed to notice some distinctive features and changes that you should expect. All in all, the new Supra should be an attractive and unique sports car with a coupe-like design. Experts would say that it has been largely inspired by the FT-1 concept. So in the front fascia, you will notice a similar nose and the double-bubble roof also resembles a lot. On the other hand, what first has caught our attention was the headlights that will definitely be redesigned and full LED. We have also noticed the LED running lights. In the back part of the new Supra, you will probably find a smaller spoiler than the one seen on the FT-1 concept as well as a larger wing. It will also get slim taillights.

Interior

The camouflaged version of the 2019 Toyota Supra has led to lack of information when it comes to interior of this sports model. The inside of the new Supra may not be so much race-inspired as it has been the case with the FT-1 concept. However, you can probably expect sports seats and sports pedals. The focus will probably be more on luxury and comfort, following the trends of the next-generation vehicles and updating the hi-tech features. High-quality materials such as leather on the seats and aluminum trim have been expected, at least in some higher trim levels. You can definitely hope for the upgraded dashboard with modern instrument cluster and center console that will be well-equipped with touch screen displays and the latest infotainment and entertainment system as well as the safety features.

Engine

The engine that the 2019 Toyota Supra will be hiding under its hood has probably been the greatest mystery. However, the spy videos revealed something that sounds a lot like possible V-6 hybrid configuration. There will certainly be more than one engine option, but the most anticipated has probably been the 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged gasoline engine, similar to the one seen in Lexus models and one or two electric motors. It has been estimated that such a powertrain should be able to deliver at least 400 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.
