According to the information our team has got, the fans of midsize crossovers can start looking forward to another redesigned model for the year 2019. It will be the new 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan with no major changes under the hood, but certainly some fresh design and bigger size. The German carmaker made its official debut with this model at the 2017 North American International Show in Detroit.

Exterior

When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, the first great change and improvement definitely includes its size. Namely, this midsize crossover will have the wheelbase 10 inches longer than its predecessor. This can only mean that you should expect more space and better comfort for you, your passengers and cargo. Besides that, the new Tiguan will also appear wider and lower, which will only improve the overall handling, stability and performance. It will ride on the MBQ modular platform shared with models such as the Audi A3 and Q7. The overall styling has been compared to the Atlas model due to those sharper lines. The new Tiguan will seem more muscular, but it will also get some more elegant features.

Interior

As we have already mentioned, the 2019 VW Tiguan will provide more space inside its cabin thanks to its longer wheelbase and bigger dimensions. There will be plenty of headroom and legroom and you should also expect a large cargo area. The company should also employ some high-quality materials to cover the seats. Its modern and functional cabin will also undergo some serious updates in terms of technology. Therefore, the driver can expect an information display in the instrument cluster as well as a 12.3-inch touch-screen display in the center console with the latest infotainment and entertainment system. It will provide some of the latest high-tech features and connectivity options. The new Tiguan will also include the advanced safety systems and driver assist features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, parking camera system, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning.

Engine

When it comes to engine choices that the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan will offer under the hood, you shouldn’t expect any changes here. Instead, this model will keep using its current 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Such an engine provides 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and get a front-wheel drive. An all-wheel drive system will be available, too.

2019 Volkswagen Tiguan Release Date and Price

The 2019 VW Tiguan is expected to hit the market this summer, but the release date hasn’t been announced yet. The price of this crossover should start around $26,000.
