Despite the complete overhaul from several months ago, there are lots of changes that GM prepares for the second year of production as well, for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. The new light-duty model arrived, but the next year will bring HD models to as, as well as some all-new versions, designed to provide excellent off-road performances and capabilities. All these new versions will come heavily based on the recently introduced 1500 model, but also with plenty of exclusive details. New models will be arriving one by one, during the next year.
- Wide engine palette
- Spacious interior
- Long list of standard features
- Plenty of new versions
- Lots of hard plastics on the inside
The recent design has brought a lot of novelties in terms of technology and design solutions and all of them will be applied to new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado models as well. While the base model is about to continue in the same way, the HD models will come completely new, to compete with Ford’s Super Duty models and Ram’s new HD trucks. On the other side, it looks like the company prepares the Raptor’s new rival, which will come as 2020 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. Compared to standard models, it will come with lots of mechanical upgrades, such as new suspension, new brakes, off-road tires etc. Expect plenty of new visual details as well. This means a new body kit, new color options, rims etc.
If we talk about standard models, there is no room of changes at the moment. This truck comes with plenty of hi-quality materials, long list of standard equipment etc. When it comes to new HD models, count on a similar layout, though with more rugged materials. Finally, the new ZR2 will come with lots of exclusive details, such as new sports seats, unique color schemes etc. Of course, count on a unique list of standard equipment as well.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado Engines
A wide palette of engines is one of the things that characterize the current model and it will be expanded even more in the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. Base models will continue with a new 2.7-liter four-cylinder unit with around 310 hp and 348 pound-feet of torque. Count on two familiar V8 units as well. The first one is a 5.3-liter engine with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The other one is a 6.2-liter unit with 420 hp and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a 3.0-liter diesel unit, which delivers around 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. When it comes to the new ZR2 model, it will probably come with a tuned version of a familiar 6.2-liter V8, with an output between 450 and 500 horsepower.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado Release Date and Price
The new versions will start coming one by one already in the first half of next year. So, it would be hard to predict some more precise launch dates. On the other side, the base price will remain to go around $32,000.
