One of the world’s most famous subcompacts is currently in the seventh generation. It is on the market for almost three years and it looks like the company plans to make a couple of changes. This should be a classical facelift, with the focus of visual changes. Of course, these changes would affect the 2020 Ford Fiesta ST as well. This performance version offers not just more power, but upgrades in terms of mechanics and aesthetics as well. For this occasion, the mechanical aspect of the car will probably remain untouched, while several visual changes seem quite likely.
- Lots of performances for the money
- Attractive styling
- Track-ready handling
- Not for everyday drive
As we already mentioned, this should be a pretty common facelift. The 2020 Ford Fiesta ST is about to come with updates in visual aspects. As you may presume, the focus will be on the front end. We are pretty sure it will adopt the same changes as standard models. In addition, this version comes with lots of upgrades, and we presume that the company won’t touch these parts too much. Still, don’t exclude new unique alloy wheels, exclusive color options, and similar things. On the other side, mechanics should remain the same, although some reports suggest modifications on suspension, which would make 2020 Ford Fiesta ST more friendly to everyday ride, just it is the case with the VW Polo GTI.
Interior changes probably won’t be numerous. The current model already comes pretty strong in this aspect. All materials feature high quality, including the dashboard, which is full of soft-touch surfaces and tech goodies. Of course, there is a fair amount of unique details. Count on racing seats, flat-bottomed steering wheels etc. The list of standard equipment is generous as well, especially in terms of gadgetry and similar things. Of course, a large tablet-like touchscreen on the center stack is one of the highlights.
This aspect definitely won’t suffer any change. The new generation of the ST model came with a completely new engine. A new model features a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine, which delivers more power and better overall efficiency. It is good for about 200 horsepower and comes in pair with a 6-speed manual transmission. An automatic transmission is not available. Such a combination provides amazing performances. For example, 0-60 time goes around 6.5 seconds. Compared to the previous generation, that is a 0.2-second improvement. It may not sound impressive, but the difference is pretty obvious in practice.
2020 Ford Fiesta ST Release Date and Price
The 2020 Ford Fiesta ST is expected to come sometime late in the year. We don’t count on bigger changes in price. So, count on a tag around $24,000.
