This year will be very interesting for the HD segment. RAM and Chevy will offer completely new generation, while Ford is about to update its Super Duty models. The 2020 RAM 2500 is about to come with lots of improvements. Base light-duty models have been redesigned last year and now it’s time for HD models. Of course, the entry-level 2500 model is first to come. Count on significant improvements in terms of chassis and body design, as well as on lots of new technologies and design solutions in other aspects as well. The new model should come in the next several months.
- Completely redesigned
- Plenty of torque for better towing capacity
- Luxurious cabin
- Quiet and comfortable ride
- Lots of tech and safety features are reserved for higher trims
- Hope the manual transmission will work better this time
The 2020 RAM 2500 will bring a lot of novelties. Without any doubt, it will be heavily based on the new 1500 model, which came to the market last year. This refers to both mechanics and aesthetics. Of course, count on a new chassis design, which is almost entirely from HSS. This provided a 225-pound weight loss in the 1500 model, so we count on similar results in this model as well. In terms of the visual appearance, count on the strong influence from Light Duty models. In practice, this means that the new generation will drop its famous crosshair grille layout for the first time in more than three decades. Still, considering how good the new 1500 model looks, we have no doubt that the 2020 RAM 2500 will be pretty attractive as well.
The 2020 RAM 2500 won’t be the only new model to come in the segment. Chevy Silverado 2500 is also coming completely redesigned, while the F-250 is about to receive an update. All models will come with plenty of novelties, but we are pretty sure that the 2020 RAM 2500 will be a leader in terms of the interior quality, just like it’s the case with the new 1500 model. Soft-touch materials, excellent sound isolation, and very comfortable seats are things you can count on. Also, we have no doubt that the company will offer all of its latest tech features, including large 8.4- and 12-inch touchscreens.
Most likely, the initial version of the new generation will come with two gasoline units in the offer. A diesel version will come in the future as well. The base 2020 RAM 2500 will come with a familiar 305-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine, which features the company’s new eTorque mild-hybrid technology, which provides an additional 90 lb-ft of torque. An optional 5.7-liter V8 with 395 horsepower will also feature this technology and get an additional 150 lb-ft of torque.
2020 RAM 2500 Release Date and Price
The 2020 RAM 2500 should hit the market in the next several months. Base models will probably feature price around $33,000.
