It seems that the best-selling SUV coming from Hyundai has already been on its way to hit the market as a brand-new 2019 Hyundai Santa FE model. The fourth generation of the Santa Fe is expected to show some serious updates and refreshments in terms of exterior, technology and space, but also to offer three engine choices and a brand-new transmission.
Exterior
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, the upcoming model has already been largely compared to the Hyundai Kona and its design language that has clearly served as an inspiration. The first great change on this midsize crossover includes its bigger dimensions. Namely, the new Santa Fe is going to appear larger than the outgoing model, which means more space inside its cabin. This especially refers to its long-wheelbase version with seven seats known as the Santa Fe XL. The Santa Fe is also expected to improve its suspension system and provide better stability and handling. The updated exterior features can be noticed in the front as well as the rear fascia. The front end will proudly wear the latest cascading honeycomb grille. This will probably be its most distinctive feature. The headlights will be reshaped and thin while the LED fog lights will appear larger. This muscular crossover should stand on standard 19-inch wheels. In the back part of the vehicle, you will find its narrow LED taillights that will also be reshaped and get a triangular design. They, together with a subtle roof spoiler, give the new Santa Fe a sportier look.
Interior
Thanks to its larger dimensions, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will definitely provide more space for you, your passengers and your cargo. It will offer its standard five-seat and seven-seat configurations, but according to the information we have got, a brand new eight-seat configuration will be available as well. Even the rear seat passengers will get plenty of legroom. Besides high-quality materials and overall comfort, other updates can be expected in terms of technology. A base 7.0-inch touch screen with the latest infotainment system will stand higher on the dashboard. The driver will also have the chance to choose an optional heads-up display. Safety systems and driver assist features such as adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist will also come as standard.
Engine
As we have already mentioned, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will offer three engine choices under its hood – two gasoline options and one diesel. The base model should come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that hits 185 horsepower while an optional version will use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers the output of 232 horsepower. A new diesel version includes a 2.2-liter four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. Each of these engines will be mated to a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission.
