It has been officially announced that the Nissan fans should be expecting to see a brand-new Altima sedan coming as a 2019 Nissan Altima model this year. The concept of the upcoming Altima made its debut at the 2018 International New York Auto Show. It seems that we will be able to see some quite innovative and premium features, including its VC-turbo engine.

Exterior

The 2019 Nissan Altima is going to hit the market as a four-door midsize sedan. When it comes to exterior, the first impression the fans will get is that this sedan appears more aggressive and luxurious than its predecessor. Also, it will wear bolder and more modern design, especially in the front fascia where you will notice its muscular hood with more massive V-shaped grille and LED headlights. Looking at the side profile, the new Altima will be standing on 19-inch dark grey aluminum-alloy wheels. The sedan will probably be available in several new body paints. In the back part of the vehicle, you will find its LED taillights compared to the ones found on the larger Maxima.

Interior

Inside the 2019 Nissan Altima, you should expect some serious updates and luxurious features. The cabin will be more spacious and comfortable. The front seats will be heated as well as the steering wheel. Numerous upgrades can be expected in terms of technology. For instance, the new Altima will provide Nissan Intelligent Mobility that will offer lots of high-tech options and connectivity features. The driver will find an 8.0-inch infotainment touch-screen with standard Apple Car Play and Android Auto as well as a premium nine-speaker Bose audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, four USB ports and others. The new Altima will also be equipped with the Pro Pilot Assist that will help the driver deal with everyday traffic. Some of the standard safety systems and driver assist features that this sedan will offer include adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Engine

As we have already mentioned, probably the most innovative feature when it comes to the 2019 Nissan Altima will be its variable compression turbo engine, found only in the Infiniti QX50. It will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers the output of 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the base model will come with standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder that should hit 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Both engines will be mated to a CVT and get the front-wheel drive. Also, Nissan’s intelligent all-wheel drive system will be available as optional.
