The fans of luxurious sedans will soon have the chance to see another completely redesigned model coming from Toyota. It will be the new 2019 Toyota Avalon and it is expected to hit the roads as a 2019 model. This premium sedan made its official debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show.

Exterior

When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Toyota Avalon, this model is going to hit the market as a four-door luxury sedan. Its shape and recognizable styling won’t change much, but the fans will definitely notice some serious updates and improvements. The new Avalon will ride on the TNGA K platform that this model will share with the Camry and the Lexus ES, for instance. Speaking of changes, the sedan will also get bigger dimensions for the year 2019. It will appear lower, but also wider and with longer wheelbase. This certainly promises more space inside its cabin as well as better handling and stability. The new Avalon is also expected to get some sharper lines and a bit aggressive appearance, especially in the front end. The front fascia will also largely contribute to this model’s enhanced aerodynamics. Probably the most distinctive feature found in the front end will be its larger mesh grille. You can expect a range from 17 to 19 inches when it comes to wheels, but also some new body paint choices should be available.

Interior

Thanks to those larger dimensions that we have already mentioned, the 2019 Toyota Avalon will provide more space for you and your passengers than its predecessor. In fact, the back seat area will be significantly expanded and therefore, you will get more headroom and legroom. The carmaker will use some soft-touch materials, even leather in higher trim levels. Other updates include its high-tech area and safety systems. The driver will find a 7.0-inch display in the instrument cluster and a 9.0-inch touch-screen with the infotainment system. It will provide some latest features such as Wi-Fi hotspot, USB ports, Wireless charging, Apple Car Play and a 14-speaker JBL audio system. Some of the advanced safety systems and driver assist features that will come as standard include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, pre-collision warning, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning and pedestrian detection system.

Engine

The 2019 Toyota Avalon will come with a standard 3.5-liter V6 as it has been the case with the outgoing model. However, it will be more efficient and powerful in the 2019 Avalon. It is expected to deliver the output of around 300 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. It will get an eight-speed automatic transmission. The other version of the new Avalon combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 650-Volt electric motor, paired to a CVT.
