2020 Audi R8 is planned to be shown by the end of the year, but as we were able to see, there are low chances for that. However, it will be significantly improved, with redesigned details on the ends and maybe improved engine.
In spite of the camouflage, it was possible to see how the new 2023 Audi R8 looks like and where are the biggest changes. First of all, there is visibly wider and redesigned front end with a slightly different mesh grille. Front lights look much more narrowed and thinner, and below them are redesigned air intakes with a gap between them so the front end looks even wider. The sides are also separated and wider, so the car looks sportier, mostly thanks to the new lip spoiler and extended side skirts. The rear end has the new shape of the oval exhausts instead of rhomboidal as on current R8. Otherwise, the car is maybe a little lowered and sportier.
The cabin was not visible on test driving and spy photos, but comparing with the old models there are sports seats, modernly designed parts and surely great technology expected in 2023 Audi R8.
The manufacturer has not clearly said if something will be changed in 2023 Audi R9 engine from the last model, but we are sure that it is at least stronger than before. Even though there should be the same 5.2-liter V10 petrol engine but it could produce more than 540 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque as on base model and 610 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. To be compared, current Lamborghini Huracan has the same engine type but it produces 640 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, so we can expect the same strength and change in this version, too. There are also rumors that Audi is planning to offer a new V6 twin-turbocharged petrol unit that fulfills legislation and tax law in the US, but they have never confirmed that. However, informed fans say that Audi will never replace current engine model from R8 series and only change that could happen is in sedan models with new e-Tron GT model for the 2023 year.
2020 Audi R8 Release Date and Price
Even though the model is represented as a 2023 model, fans believe that it could be on the market even after that, as the 2023 model. As we were able to see on spy photos, the car still has camouflage on test driving, which shows that it could be released later. However, the price for the current model is around $167,000 for the base model, so expect higher number for 2023 Audi R8, according to the rumors and having in mind all improvements in this version, too.
