The second generation of the company’s familiar hatchback is here and we can already find reports about novelties for the second production year. To remind you, this compact car has been originally introduced eight years ago. The second generation was presented a year ago in Detroit. The 2024 Hyundai Veloster will represent the second production year and we would normally expect to see no bigger changes. However, the company thinks differently. Allegedly, Hyundai is about to introduce a new, convertible version of the car. We are still waiting for the official confirmation, though this seems quite likely.

Exterior
The second generation came last year. Therefore, the 2024 Hyundai Veloster should continue with the same layout. The new model rides on a new platform and also adopts the brand’s newest design language. Compared to the previous version, it looks far more attractive. It comes with a styling philosophy that includes lots of sharp lines and angular shapes. The new convertible version should stick to the same styling philosophy, despite different body style. Still, it won’t be a surprise if this model comes with a couple of modifications, not just in terms of aesthetics, but in terms of mechanics as well. This refers to a little bit different chassis setup and similar things.
Interior
The recent redesign has brought a lot of improvement in terms of the interior quality. The original model was criticized for a cheap-looking cabin. Things are much different now. Still, it still isn’t on the same level as class leaders like Honda Civic, but is very good, especially in terms of the attractive layout. When it comes to the new convertible version, we have no doubt that the overall cabin design will look pretty much the same, especially the dashboard. Still, keep in mind that this body style usually means less legroom and overall space in the cabin, especially in the second row.
Engines
We are pretty sure that the 2024 Hyundai Veloster will continue with familiar engines in the offer. Base models will feature a familiar 2.0-liter engine that delivers around 147 horsepower. An optional 1.6-liter turbo-four seems like a perfect measure for this car. It features a max output of 201 horsepower. Finally, there is a hi-performance, N version, which is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, which is good for about 275 horsepower. A new convertible version will probably come with a smaller turbo engine.
2020 Hyundai Veloster Release Date and Price
We don’t expect 2024 Hyundai Veloster to come before the last quarter of the years. Also, we don’t expect bigger changes in price compared to the current model, which in base version goes around $18,500.
