This is the aspect where we could easily see some very interesting changes. The current model comes with a familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers around 155 horsepower. Some reports suggest that the 2024 Mazda MX-5 will come with the same engine, but tuned up to somewhere around 180 hp. Still, exact details are still unknown. Moreover, we are still waiting for the official confirmation. However, if we consider that key rivals, Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ are about to come completely redesigned soon, this boost sounds very likely, especially if we consider that two models are about to get a new turbo engine with significantly more power. With additional power, the 2024 Mazda MX-5 would become even quicker and more agile. It should be able to reach 60 mpg in less than 6 seconds.
2020 Mazda MX-5 Release Date and Price
Expect to see updated 2024 Mazda MX-5 on some of the upcoming car shows. Sales, though, probably won’t start before the second half of the next year. Base models currently go around $25,000 and we shouldn’t see changes in this aspect soon.
