It looks like we are about to see 2024 RAM 1500 Diesel for the next year. The new generation of the popular truck came with plenty of novelties and this will be the latest one. In the past, diesel engines were reserved for HD models only. These days, many manufacturers also offer a smaller and more efficient oil-burners for their light-duty models. Exterior
In terms of base design characteristics and exterior design, the 2024 RAM 1500 Diesel definitely won’t be much different compared to standard gasoline-powered models. The new, fifth generation of the truck came last year, with plenty of novelties. Of course, there is a new platform, with significant weight savings. Also, there is a new styling, and this is definitely the area where the company made great progress. The new generation looks far more attractive than before. Allegedly, a new diesel engine won’t just find its place under the hood of base models. Some reports suggest a diesel version of the performance-oriented version, known as Rebel, as well. However, there is still no official confirmation about this version.
Interior
Once again, don’t expect bigger changes compared to gasoline model. The recent redesign has brought plenty of novelties and this truck definitely set some new standards for the class in terms of interior quality. No other model in the segment, including arch rivals Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado, can match its interior refinement. The cabin is full of soft-touch, premium-grade materials, while the seats are incredibly massive and supportive, like in some limousine. Also, the sound isolation is amazing, while the list of standard and available equipment is impressive as well. The only bigger complaint goes to the latest safety systems, which are available in highest trim levels only.
2020 RAM 1500 Diesel Engine
Of course, the most interesting part of the new 2024 RAM 1500 Diesel will be its engine. It will come with a familiar 3.0-liter six-cylinder unit from VM Motori, which powers the Grand Cherokee as well. It will probably come tuned-up for a bit in this case, with a max output of around 260 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. Rest of the powertrain lineup should continue in the same way.
2020 RAM 1500 Diesel Release Date and Price
The 2024 RAM 1500 Diesel should arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year. Base models will probably go around $32,000.
