According to the information we have got, the legendary model Buick Grand National is coming back to the USA market. It will be released as a 2018 model together with its special edition known as 2018 Buick Grand National GNX. We hope that the Buick fans will be satisfied with this perfect combination of a prestigious design and high performance.
When it comes to exterior and configuration of the new 2018 Buick Grand National, it will be available in two versions. The first one is regular that comes as a four-door sedan. The other will appear as a two-door coupe and it will be available for the special high-performance Grand National GNX. Also, it seems that the 2018 Grand National is going to abandon its previous GM Epsilon II platform and use the new GM’s Alpha that can be found on models such as the third-generation Cadillac CTS and the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. The new Grand National has also been compared to these models in terms of design and numerous exterior features it will upgrade. Buick has also been planning to make this new model sportier, retaining at the same time the well-known extravagant and elegant look with smooth lines. We hope that we will get more information in terms of exterior soon.
Inside the 2018 Buick Grand National, you can definitely expect a more spacious cabin. Apparently, Buick has decided to solve the earlier issues related to the cramped space for the rear seat passengers, so they will now hopefully get more headroom and legroom. The interior of the new Buick is expected to be furnished with high-quality materials, offering a sense of luxury inside. The technology features will also be upgraded and this model will provide all the necessary next-generation options such as GPS, sound system, USB ports, Bluetooth connection and others. The driver will get a multifunctional steering wheel as well. Safety systems and driver assist features will also be included.
When it comes to engine that the 2018 Buick Grand National will be hiding under its hood, we can say that three options have been discussed. The regular model will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be able to deliver 272 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The other option involves a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 321 horsepower and 274 pound-feet of torque. The third option can be found in the high-performance Grand National GNX that will use a new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 able to hit 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic and there is a possibility of offering even an eight-speed automatic transmission.
