The 2018 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is the much talked about resurgence of the universally bellowed, classic muscle car whose last model come out nearly four decades ago. Chevrolet never confirmed the comeback rumors, but they never exactly denied them either. This non-action from Chevy has led many of the model’s enthusiasts to still believe that a 21st century version of the Chevelle SS still might make its way into their showrooms one day. But, today in 2017 it seems like anything is possible, even Ford decided to bring back the Bronco, their equivalent of the Chevelle SS in terms of the sheer number of rumors and speculations about its eventual comeback. So why wouldn’t Chevy follow in Ford’s footsteps and give the people what they want?

Design
In terms of design, all we have are renderings from fans and enthusiasts alike, that have offered an interesting look at the 21st century Chevelle SS and how the vehicle has advanced over the years, in their eyes at least. But if we consider the Ford Mustang for instance, and how it has progressed from its classic muscle car shape into a state of the art sports car that is bellowed the world over, they aren’t that off base. If the Chevelle were to return, we could easily see a fully aerodynamic and contemporary design with all the modern features, such as the LED headlamps and taillamps, dual exhaust pipes, air extractor hood vents and 20 inch wheels. Not to mention all the technological advancements from the infotainment and vehicular safety worlds that have been made over the years, and are sure to make their way into the 2018 Chevrolet Chevelle SS if they get a chance.
Engine and Powertrain
Being a muscle car, the key feature of the new Chevelle SS would certainly be its powertrain. Unfortunately, there is no official information to go on, at this time. But, is we are to believe the rumors, the 2019 Chevelle SS will be powered by a two distinctive engine options, the base, entry-level version, and greater performance option. The former is said to be the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo drive engine that is capable of delivering up to 294 horsepower, while the latter, more powerful option is a 3.3 liter V6 engine that will need to offer well over 350 horsepower if it is to compete with some of the other models in this segment.

2018 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Release Date and Price
If the 2018 Chevrolet Chevelle SS were to get released it would likely get a late 2018, or an early 2019 release date. However, the starting price would be much harder to determine. But, if we take into account the price points of some of the muscle cars that are on the market today and who would become this new model’s biggest competition, around $30.000 would be our estimate for the 2019 Chevrolet Chevelle SS’s starting price.
