After being originally released as a 2015 model, the 2018 Jeep Renegade is now coming back to hit the 2018 market. This crossover will represent one of the smallest, but also one of the most affordable Jeep SUVs. The options under the hood will probably remain the same, but this model will undergo various other upgrades for the upcoming year.

Exterior

When it comes to exterior of the 2018 Jeep Renegade, we have already mentioned its small dimensions. Be that as it may, the new Renegade will offer an improved off-road capability and excellent performance. An interesting fact is that this model has been designed in the USA, but it will be built in Italy. According to the information we have got, it has been said that this model will share the platform with the Fiat 500X. The 2018 Renegade will be available in four trims – Sport, Latitude, Limited and Thrailhawk. So, the features and the equipment of this unique boxy crossover will depend on the trim you choose, but we can say that even the base model looks like a real Jeep, especially in the front fascia. You will notice its seven-slot grille and the recognizable round headlights. In the back, the taillights will get an x-shaped design. The Renegade will be standing on standard 16-inch wheels, but higher trim levels can get up to 18 inches.

Interior

Inside the 2018 Jeep Renegade you will find a simple but modern cabin with the comfortable front seats. However, the rear seats might not be able to accommodate more than two adult passengers. Even those tall rear passengers could come across a lack of headroom and legroom. On the other hand, there will be enough of cargo space and the front seats can be folded flat in order to get some extra room. Jeep will manage to upgrade the technology in this next-generation model so the Latitude trim, for example, will offer a 7.0-inch touch-screen display with the infotainment system and options such as navigation, air-conditioning, Bluetooth connection, Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The heated front seats covered in leather can be found inside the Limited and Thrailhawk trims. Safety systems and driver assist features such as a rearview camera, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning will be included as well.

Engine

As we have already mentioned in the intro, the 2018 Jeep Renegade will keep the two earlier options under its hood. One of them comes with the 2.4-liter inline-4 engine that delivers 180 horsepower and it is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The other offers the 1.4-liter turbo-four with 160 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. The new Renegade will offer a choice of either a front-wheel or an all-wheel-drive system.

2018 Jeep Renegade Release Date and Price

The production of the 2018 Jeep Renegade is expected to begin this year in November. The estimated price of a base model starts from $18,445 and it could go above $30,000.
