The new 2020 Jeep Gladiator will have lots of things in common with the recently-redesigned Wrangler. The legendary SUV came with a complete architecture, which comes with some new design solutions which, among other things, also provide notable weight savings. The new 2020 Jeep Gladiator will ride on the same platform. Moreover, this architecture will most likely be exclusively reserved for these two models. The styling philosophy will also be the same, almost identical when it comes to the front end. Expect to see a familiar face, while the rest of the truck will come in a classic pickup layout. The new model will come in a double cab body style, but it will also feature a spacious cargo bed as well. Therefore, many reports suggest some wheelbase stretchings.
In this aspect, we expect 2020 Jeep Gladiator to completely follow recently redesigned Wrangler. As we already mentioned, the new truck will come exclusively in some kind of a double cab layout. Single row versions probably won’t be in the offer. The dashboard design, as well as pretty much complete cabin, will follow the design of its SUV sibling. Among other things, this means the same waterproof dashboard, full of new technologies, including a very user-friendly infotainment system. Such design will make this truck capable of competing with both comfort-oriented Honda Ridgeline and more capable trucks like Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado etc.
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator will come with at least three engines in the offer. We should see the same two gasoline units that can be found under the hood of new Wrangler. There is a brand-new 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, which is good for about 270 horsepower. Also, there is a familiar 3.6-liter V6, which delivers around 285 hp. Also, expect to see a diesel engine in the offer. It will be the same six-cylinder unit that powers Grand Cherokee. It is a 3.0-liter engine with a max output of 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. Finally, some reports suggest even a hybrid powertrain in the offer, though we didn’t hear anything official on this subject so far.
2020 Jeep Gladiator Release Date and Price
Expect to see 2020 Jeep Gladiator sometime in the next year. Base models will probably go around $30.000.
