2019 Ford Fusion has its premiere on New York Auto Show but it attracted high interest even before that. There are many changes in design, but with remained all known and recognizable details, while the main change is in technology and equipment used in the cabin.
Exterior
As we said, there are visible changes in 2019 Ford Fusion from the last model, and those are not only in the front grille, which is obvious but also in the rear end and design of the lights. The first thing that catches the eyes is visibly wider mesh grille and redesigned front lights. The rear end is soft and with gentle lines and edges, and also redesigned rear lights. The car is smoother and softener, slightly lowered but attractive and modernized.
Interior
We were able to see average cabin inside of 2019 Ford Fusion and not much different from the cabin in last year model. It is roomy and comfortable with great and quality materials and colors used there and have many details that provide the look of modernity and luxury. However, in term of technology, there are the best in the class, like lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking and high beams, rear-cross-warning system and many others. Higher trims get much more than this.
Engine
As the manufacturer is planning to offer more than one version of the model, it will obviously need to have more than one engine. The base model has 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit, the higher trim gets 2.5-liter four-cylinder while the highest Premium trim will have V6 engine with 325 horsepower. There are high chances that the manufacturer will offer two hybrid versions. The first version is actually a simple electric unit that will be combined with petrol engines above, while the second one is a special Fusion Energy Titanium with 20% higher mile range than models in class, which is, unfortunately, still half lower than Chevrolet Volt, the best in class.
2019 Ford Fusion Release Date and Price
We are not sure in final price for 2019 Ford Fusion, as the manufacturer again offered to make a custom model with all allowed features. However, this time it will be able to make 86 version only, which is far less than 2,000 optional version of the last year model. The highest price could be $39,000, which is the price of the Premium trim. The competitors are usual – Kia Optima, Toyota Camry, Honda Sonata, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5, but last two are competitors only in cargo and cabin space.
