2019 Nissan Frontier is finally there, as a completely redesigned model, which many fans and buyers expected after even 12 years of waiting for the redesign. Even though some rumors suggested that this year version will be only mid-cycle refreshments, now is for sure that it will be a huge redesign from the last models and surely a long waited refreshment.
Exterior
It is for sure that the new 2019 Nissan Frontier will be completely redesigned and changed in order to follow high market demands when light pick-up trucks are about. That includes massive and aggressive front end with wide chromatic grille, similar to Toyota Tacoma. The rear end could be long and squared as on Chevrolet Colorado, even though Frontier that we know by now has numerous similarities with those two cars before and perhaps with Ford F-150, but only in design, not in size. It is also expected that the platform will be a new one.
Interior
There should be found many changes in the cabin of the 2019 Nissan Frontier, including those in technology and equipment. Firstly, there is a slightly redesigned cabin, but with the same details and additions, like leather on the seats and chromatic details on the elegant black dashboard. The seats should be soft and with adjustable functions, separated enough from the dashboard for better comfort. The cabin is also designed to be simple, but attractive and it should be the only part of the car that will not undergo many changes from the current model.
Engine
There are some changes when it comes to the engine and some old resolutions. The base model is equipped with the old engine 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 150 horsepower. There could be offered another version with 170 horsepower of strength. The higher trim gets a new 4.0-liter V6 engine with 260 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It should come with the new six-speed automatic transmission, as a replacement for the current five-speed automatic one. Diesel engines fun should be satisfied with at least one diesel engine in the offer, but the manufacturer has not precise which one will be found under the hood.
2019 Nissan Frontier Release Date and Price
We expect that Nissan will start with production in August, which is their usual month for new models. In that case, the new model could be on the market in October so the first Auto Shows there could host this model as well. However, the price is still a secret, but it should not be much different from the current one which is $25,000. Depending on the offer and equipment it obviously could be even higher.
