The popular compact crossover is about to come completely new as 2024 Ford Escape. The development of the next generation is in the late stage of development and should be ready for the next year. Expect lots of novelties from the fourth-generation Escape, which is about to continue with its close relation with popular compact hatchback/sedan Focus. Once again, this model will come from Europe. It will feature pretty much the same characteristics as the Kuga, with just minor differences in terms of specs. Expect to see the new generation on market already early in the next year.

Exterior
This redesign is about to bring lots of novelties for sure. Still, don’t expect to see anything radical. Once again, it will have many things in common with the Focus. The popular compact car has been redesigned just recently and it brings improvements in all aspects while sticking to the proven design philosophy. Of course, there is a new platform, which gets about an inch in terms of overall length, while wheelbase remains practically the same. We expect the same thing with the new crossover, which will also stick to the design language that characterizes the new Focus. This means almost identical front end, with a pair of new headlights, sharper bumper and bigger grille. Still, don’t expect changes in terms of proportions and overall shape.
Interior
Same goes for the interior design. Once again, expect lots of inspiration from the new sedan/hatchback. Moreover, two models should feature pretty much the same cabin design, with the same dashboard, which comes with several novelties. It keeps familiar overall look and keeps a lot of analog control. On the other side, all the knobs and buttons have been redesigned and reorganized, as well as the air vents. Of course, there is also a new instrument cluster, which keeps things pretty simple and transparent.
Engines
When it comes to powertrain, we expect no surprises. Base models will feature a small 1.0-liter EcoBoost unit, which is good for about 100 hp. The same engine should be available in a version with 125 horsepower. For those who search for something more potent, count on a 1.5-liter unit with either 150 or 180 horsepower. The new 2024 Ford Escape will be available in diesel versions on some market. There is a smaller 1.5-liter unit with 120, and a bigger 2.0-liter unit that delivers 150 horsepower. Depending on the engine, you can count on 6- or 8-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Ford Escape Release Date and Price
The 2024 Ford Escape will probably go on sale already in early 2019. Don’t expect bigger changes in price compared to the current model, which is available at $24,000. Competition is pretty tough. Some of the rivals are 2020 Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav4, Mazda CX-5 and others.
