While the company is working on the Bronco’s revival, there is already one pretty capable mid-size SUV on the other side of the world. Of course, we are talking about the Everest, which has been designed primarily for the Australian market. Latest reports suggest that the 2024 Ford Everest could get few updates. Although we can’t find more precise details, we are pretty sure it’s about visual updates. On the other side, mechanics should remain pretty much the same, including engines too. Expect to see the new version in the third quarter of the next year.

Pros

  1. Amazing towing capability
  2. Efficient diesel engines
  3. Smooth ride

Cons

  1. Interior quality could be better
  2. Not as refined as some competitors

Despite undoubtedly great capabilities, the company wants to make this SUV prettier. As a Ranger-based vehicle, it features pretty much the same design language. Considering that the famous pickup truck is coming back to the U.S. market and that for this occasion gets some visual updates, we could easily presume that the same sort of changes will be implemented in the 2024 Ford Everest. This would mean a few changes in terms of styling, mostly at the front end, in areas like front fascia, grille, bumper etc. On the other side, mechanical aspect of the SUV should remain pretty much unchanged.

The interior design will definitely remain unchanged. We are about to see the same cabin layout, as well as the same trim level organization. That would mean the same three trims in the offer. Of course, each one should get few novelties. In the current model, the base Ambient trim comes with things like 17-inch wheels, automatic headlights, LED taillights, dual-zone climate control etc. A mid-range Trend model adds several interesting things, including 18-inch wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, lane-keep assist etc. Finally, there is a Titanium trim, with things like rear cross-traffic alert, power sunroof, heated front seats, semi-automatic park assist and many more standard features.

Engines

When it comes to engines, the 2024 Ford Everest will continue with two familiar diesel units in the offer. Base models will feature a familiar 5-cylinder 3.2-liter unit, which is good for about 180 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. In higher trims, you can count on a newer 2.0-liter twin turbo inline-four diesel engine, which is good for about 210 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Such combination provides amazing towing capacity, which goes over 6.000 pounds. For comparison, one of the rivals, Toyota 4Runner, can tow a thousand pounds less.

2020 Ford Everest Release Date and Price

Considering the upcoming updates, the 2024 Ford Everest will probably come a little bit earlier than usual, but still in the last quarter of 2019. Price should remain the same, which means around 49,000 Australian Dollars. Transferred to USD, it goes around $35,000.
