The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse will represent the third production year of the current, second-generation model, which clearly indicates no bigger changes. The popular crossover has been redesigned last year. It came with a completely new design, with lots of novelties. Of course, there is a new platform, as well as a completely new styling, interior layout, new technologies etc. Therefore, a third year of production seems too early for a major update. So, expect to see minor changes only, things like new color options and more standard equipment.

Exterior

This is a pretty fresh model on the market. The second generation of this large crossover came a year ago, so its attractive and up-to-date styling is definitely one of its strongest points. It follows the brand’s newest design language and more athletic shape than before. Compared to the previous generation, it is a little bit shorter, despite a longer wheelbase. It rides on the long-wheelbase version of the GM’s new C1 platform, which brings smoother ride, though we must say this model is still far away from class leaders like Toyota Highlander, Kia Sorento, VW Atlas, Mazda CX-9 and similar models in terms of dynamics and overall driving experience.

Interior

The interior of this crossover is kinda mixed bag. On one side, you can count on a very spacious cabin. In terms of legroom and cargo space, this is definitely one of the class-leaders. It comes with three rows in a base variant. This is one of the rare models in class that actually feature third row that actually can accommodate adult passengers. Also, count on amazing 26 cubic feet behind the seats. Total cargo capacity goes to amazing 98 cubic feet.

On the other side, the interior looks a bit cheap. You can find a lot of hard plastics on the inside, more than we would expect from a model that came a year ago. Most rivals definitely look more upscale, though the Traverse does feature a pretty intuitive infotainment system and comes with a long list of standard equipment.

Engines

Plenty of power is another strong point of this crossover. It comes with a potent 3.6-liter V6 engine, which delivers around 310 horsepower. These are pretty strong numbers for the class, though we must say that you definitely shouldn’t count some spectacular driving pleasure. This is a real family-friendly SUV. Besides V6 unit, there is also an efficient 255-hp turbo inline-four, reserved exclusively for the RS trim. Both engines feature a new 9-speed automatic transmission, which guarantees a pretty smooth ride. Fuel economy is also on a high level, on par with class-leaders.

2020 Chevrolet Traverse Release Date and Price

The third quarter of the next year seems like a perfect timing for the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse launch. We don’t expect to see bigger changes in price compared to the current model, which goes in a range between $30,000 and $53,000, roughly.
