Judging on the current situation with the company’s popular mid-size crossover, the 2024 Ford Edge probably won’t feature bigger changes. The current generation of this model is on the market since 2015 and the company already prepared changes for the 2019-year model. It will come with several changes, including visual upgrades, new engine, new trim level and much more. Considering all these novelties, it seems hard to expect something more important just a year later. So, expect from 2024 Edge to continue in the same way.
Pros
- Quiet cabin
- Efficient engines
- Great handling
Cons
- Transmission feels too slow
- Few cheap-looking areas inside the cabin
Exterior
As we’ve just mentioned, an update is coming soon, which is about to bring changes in various aspects. First of all, there is a matter of styling. This update will bring few notable novelties. First of all, there is a new grille, which keeps familiar shape but comes with a completely new pattern, similar to one that we can see on the new 2024 Explorer. Also, there is a new set of alloy wheels, as well as several model new details. Still, base design characteristics will remain the same. The current generation is present on the market for about three years, which makes it pretty fresh for some mechanical upgrades. Most likely, bigger changes won’t come before the next redesign.
Interior
Unlike the exterior, interior design won’t get to many novelties with this update. This leaves space for 2024 Ford Edge to come with some new things. However, that definitely won’t be anything significant. The new model would eventually come with new color schemes and few more standard features, but the core definitely remains the same. One of the things that makes this crossover well-ranked among other crossovers in the class is the interior quality. Of course, it probably can’t be compared with class-leaders like Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot, but definitely beats models like Hyundai Santa Fe and goes on par with the Nissan Murano. Add to this lots of tech features, including a touchscreen, smartphone integration, and similar things, and you can easily make a conclusion that this model actually gives a lot of value for the money.
Engine
In terms of powertrain, there is one big novelty to come soon. There is a new ST trim, which will get a slightly boosted version of a familiar 2.7-liter V6. While the base variant delivers around 325 hp, this one will get 10 hp more. Other than these two, there is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost unit, which features a max output of 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. In Europe, you can also choose a familiar 2.0-liter Duratorq engine, which comes in two output variants, with either 180 or 210 hp. The 2024 Ford Edge should carry on with all these units.
2020 Ford Edge Release Date and Price
Expect to see 2024 Ford Edge late in the next year. Changes in price are not expected, so base models should go around $29,000.
