It will come with lots of changes, with significant changes in dimensions and with a new palette of engines. Simply said, it will be more spacious and much more powerful compared to its biggest rival, Chevrolet Traverse. Also, expect to see a hybrid version in the offer as well.

Exterior
When it comes to the exterior design, the new 2024 Ford Explorer is about to come with numerous, pretty significant changes. Of course, a completely new styling will be among those important novelties. Still, a completely new platform seem much more important, especially if we consider that the new model will feature a 10-inch longer wheelbase. Such enlargement will bring lots of benefits. Expect far more spacious cabin, more cargo space etc. Practically, 2024 Ford Explorer will become a part of a completely different, larger segment of crossovers. As we’ve mentioned, there is a new styling to come. Count on the Ford’s latest design language, but also on several unique details.
Interior
Once again, the platform seems as the highlight of this redesign. With additional 10 inches in wheelbase, you can count on a significantly more space on the inside. This mostly refers to the legroom, especially to the third row of seating, which will be capable to comfortably accommodate even the tallest passengers now. Of course, count on a completely new cabin layout as well. The company promises more car-like cabin. This would mean more stylish dashboard, as well as plenty of new tech features. Also, count on less noise inside the cabin, even at highest speeds.
Engines
In this aspect, the 2024 Ford Explorer will be relying on the company’s familiar EcoBoost units. Base models should come with a 2.3-liter engine, which delivers around 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. A 2.7-liter V6 should be in the offer as well. This one is good for about 325 horsepower. Finally, there is a well-known 3.5-liter V6, which features around 365 horsepower and should be reserved for some hi-performance version. Various reports also suggest a hybrid powertrain. Details about it are yet to come, but we could on a combination of some EcoBoost unit and hi-output electric motor(s). In all cases, a new 10-speed automatic should be a standard feature.
