Exterior
This is the area of the 2024 Honda Civic that will certainly suffer most. The upcoming update is about to bring lots of novelties but we shouldn’t see changes in terms of mechanics. Expect same chassis, same engines in the offer etc. On the other side, spy shots clearly show camouflaged areas, which indicates visual updates. Of course, the area that will suffer most is the front end. We are about to see tweaks at the front bumper, with new fog lights and slightly reshaped air-intakes. Also, expect to see some changes in the area of front fascia and grill. Headlight, though, won’t receive changes.
The rear end is also about to get a few changes. Most likely, the rear bumper will receive few tweaks, as well as exhaust pipes. On the other side, taillight will probably keep the same shape. Finally, expect to see new wheels designs, as well as a few more colors in the offer.
Interior
Unlike the exterior, inside of the 2024 Honda Civic probably won’t suffer that much. This model already features amazing interior quality. Full of soft-touch surfaces, this compact sedan and hatchback definitely look more upscale compared to its main rivals Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra. The cabin is pretty spacious, as well as the cargo space. The aspect in which we could see changes is a list of standard equipment. Though already well-equipped, the 2024 Honda Civic could bring few novelties. For example, we could see a 7-inch touchscreen interface as a part of standard equipment already in base models. Also, various reports suggest more standard features, including Honda LaneWatch.
Engines
This is the aspect where we definitely won’t see changes. The Civic offers some spectacular engines, characterized by amazing efficiency and overall characteristics. Base models feature an older-generation 2.0-liter engine, which is good or about 158 horsepower. On the other side, a new 1.5-liter turbo inline-four comes in three output variants, with either 174, 180 or 205. In all three cases, you can count on spectacular fuel economy, which goes around 32 mpg in the city. Finally, there is a hi-performance 2024 Honda Civic Type R version, which features a new 2.0-liter turbo engine, which delivers around 305 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque.
2020 Honda Civic Release Date and Price
Considering the upcoming updates, the 2024 Honda Civic will probably come a little bit earlier than usual, most likely in the third quarter of next year. We don’t expect bigger changes in price, so base models should go around $19,000.
